Relations

Menu: Found in the DATA menu

The Relations command allows you to simultaneously access and analyze data from two or more tables at a time. You can analyze the combined data as though it existed in a single table, and add fields from related tables to the View.

Because you are working with data from different tables, you can use Relations to examine expected relationships and to discover unexpected relationships. You can also create a new table containing the related data fields using the Extract command.

Relations produces results similar to the Join command with the All Primary option selected.

Any two tables to be related must each have one key field in common. The key fields between two tables must be of the same generic data type (numeric, character or date) and should be the same length. All the tables to be related must be defined within the same Analyzer Project.

Note: The key field length cannot exceed 255 characters.
