Selection/Edit Dialog Boxes

Selection/edit dialog boxes let you work with one item at a time. You can use them to select and edit:

Variables
Filters

Selection/edit dialog boxes let you edit, create, display, rename, duplicate, copy and delete items. Most of these tasks can also be performed using the buttons in the Overview.

The Filters dialog box is a typical selection/edit dialog box.

There are two common features of selection/edit dialog boxes:

A list of items that you can select.
Several buttons for editing actions that you can perform on the selected items.

The selection list box lists selectable items. The items in the list vary according to the work you are doing. For example, the Filters dialog box lists all available filters. If no items are available, the list box is empty.

In selection boxes that allow you to select more than one item, you can CTRL+CLICK to select multiple individual items or SHIFT+CLICK to select a block of neighboring items.

Selection/edit dialog boxes contain the following command buttons:

[New] creates an item.
[Edit] allows the value of the selected item to be edited.
[Duplicate] duplicates the selected item.
[Rename] renames the selected item.
[Delete] deletes the selected item or items. Analyzer does not allow you to delete an item that is currently in use.
