Print Image File Definition Panel

The Print Image File Definition panel lets you define records and fields in your file.

In this panel, Analyzer automatically assesses the record length and displays it in the Record Length edit box. You can change the length if required. The Hint box provides you with prompts for the most likely next steps in the definition process. If your file contains tab stops, you will have to manually specify the size the tab stops.

Note: To specify the size of tab stops, manually enter a whole number from 1 to n until the data in the current record type is properly aligned. Because data files never describe their tab-stop settings, Analyzer cannot automatically process TABS. Therefore, in some cases Analyzer may not be able to process TABS at all (e.g. for files containing variable tab stops or tabs based on font-sensitive data).

The preview window displays the contents of your file and lets you scroll through all of the data. Where possible, Analyzer will identify the detail records and their fields by default. You can edit or delete the detail records and fields as required.
