Linking a Table Layout to New Table Data

Every table layout is linked to source table data. You can also link a table layout to a different version of the table data at any time when using Analyzer. The file structure of the newly linked table data must be identical to the structure of the table data for which the table layout was originally created. For example, you can use this option to link a table layout to identically structured table data from different time periods or departments, such as general ledger (G/L) files.

When you link an established table layout to new table data, Analyzer automatically closes the link to the previous table data. When you open an Analyzer Project, if Analyzer cannot locate previously defined table data for that Project, the link to that table data will be closed.

To link a table layout to new table data:

1. Right-click on a table layout name in the Overview.
2. Select “Link to New Table Data” to display the Select File Location dialog.
3. Specify whether the file resides locally or on an Arbutus Server.
4. Analyzer displays the Select File Location dialog. Browse to locate your new data file.
5. Select the new data file to link to your current table layout.
6. Click [Open]. Analyzer displays the newly linked table data in the View.
