Graphing a View

Analyzer lets you graph certain kinds of data directly from the View:

A single character or date column with one or more numeric columns
Multiple numeric columns graphed against their record number

This feature lets you quickly visualize your data without needing to process it first using an Analyzer command.

To graph data from a View, click and drag the mouse to select a valid data range from the View, then right-click the highlighted data and select Graph Selected Data.

When the graph appears, you can modify the graph type, appearance and properties using the buttons on the left side of the graph.

Valid graphing options are displayed with color buttons. Invalid options are grayed out.

Because a View-based graph is not based on data from Analyzer commands, it does not have as many features as a graph produced from data output. the graph drill-down option is not available. Character or date data are not sorted and appear in the same order as they do in the View.

If you need greater control over graphs, create them from command data output instead. For more information, see Drilling Down into Graphed Data.
