Changing Graph Appearance: Label Properties

To make changes to a graph label, click the label to select it. A frame appears around the text, with handles.

You can:

Click the text to edit it
Click and drag the frame to change its position
Click and drag a handle to change the size of the frame, so it can hold more words or a larger font size
Click the label then click [Label Properties] or double-click the label to display the Label Properties dialog

Changing Label Properties

The Label Properties dialog lets you change the font size, style orientation and color of a selected label. The Label Properties dialog has three tabs:

Orientation
Font
Attributes

Orientation Tab

Use the controls in the [Orientation] tab to change the position of the text within the label frame. This feature is useful when you make the label frame larger and give it a visible border or a different background color.

You can also use it to change the orientation of the label.

Font Tab

Use the controls in the [Font] tab to change the font, font style or color. Click the font name to display the Font dialog.

Attributes Tab

Use the controls in the [Attributes] tab to give the label a border. You can choose a border line thickness and a line color and you can give the border a shadow. If you give the label a border, the font background color is displayed. You can still change the font background color after you apply a border.

Note: You cannot use the Label Properties dialog to change text along the axes of the graph. Use the Graph Properties dialog to change the text attached to the axes of the graph. For more information, see Changing Graph Appearance: Graph Properties
