Changing Graph Appearance: Graph Properties

The Graph Properties dialog lets you change the background color, axis properties and borders of your graph. You can also make global changes to the font used for all text associated with the graph.

To change graph properties, click [Graph Properties] or double-click the graph itself. The Graph Properties dialog has four tabs:

Global Font
Background
Frame
Options

Global Font Tab

Use the controls in the [Global Font] tab to control font properties that will apply to all the text in the graph window, such as font family and font color. The font changes you make in this dialog will affect all the text in the graph window at the same time.

You can change the font used in the legend and in the labels later, using the Legend Properties dialog and the Label Properties dialog.

Only the Global Font can change the format of the text attached to the graph, such as the text along the axes of the graph. Any text that you cannot select is attached to the graph.

Background Tab

Use the controls on the [Background] tab to change the entire graph’s background color, the style, color and thickness of the line used for the border or to delete the drop shadow.

Frame Tab

Use the controls on the [Frame] tab to change the graph frame’s background color, the style and thickness of the line used for the border or to delete the drop shadow.

Options Tab

Use the checkboxes in the [Options] tab if you do not want to display the graph’s grid lines, axis or legend.

Moving and Resizing the Graph

Click and drag the graph to change its position. Click and drag a handle to change its size.
