The Arbutus Enterprise Edition offers a unique means of integrating and sharing enterprise data that might be spread across disparate environments or worldwide geography. The integration is quick, easy and powerful.
The Arbutus Enterprise Edition refers to the seamless integration of Arbutus Servers with Arbutus desktop clients (Analyzer and ConnectPlus). This combination leverages the speed, security and data access inherent to Enterprise servers, while providing additional capabilities to:
Share data and applications across an enterprise
Schedule continuous monitoring tests
Access enterprise data resources (such as SAP)
Centralize administration and management of data sources and analysis
Enhance processing performance
Access data, tests and results from any location
The core technology of the Enterprise Edition is the Arbutus Windows Server. Arbutus also offers two other distinct Enterprise Servers for accessing and processing challenging data sources:
Arbutus zSeries Server
Arbutus iSeries Server
Arbutus Servers provide the following benefits:
Arbutus Servers are capable of reading both relational and non-relational data sources specific to the environment where they are running. This includes the most complex of legacy file structures found on mainframes. The Arbutus Servers enable each of these data sources to appear as a table in a single unified database. Even though the data may be physically disparate, the tables may be combined in any manner desired, irrespective of the original data source.
The Arbutus Servers allow data sources to be easily moved between server platforms or from the server to the desktop. Data and databases can be easily brought together from multiple platforms for analysis and reporting purposes.
Depending on requirements, analysis of your data can take place on an Arbutus Server, the desktop Analyzer / ConnectPlus clients, or a combination of each. The Arbutus Servers also allow analysis to occur against live data or staged data; providing complete analysis flexibility.
The Arbutus Servers enable data from a closed environment (for example: the Arbutus zSeries Server) to be easily staged onto an open platform (for example: the Arbutus Windows Server). Additionally, use of the Arbutus Servers enables data to be moved efficiently from one Arbutus Server to another regardless of the source platforms. This enables data from disparate sources and platforms to be freely combined or compared.
Where the sharing of data is an important part of your work flow processes, the Arbutus Servers support the easy sharing of data access and analysis among users. It also provides the option for data access to be controlled by a central administrator, whether on-site or from a remote location. Most typically, the Arbutus Windows Server is used to stage shared data from the other Arbutus Servers and from local sources.
Arbutus procedures can be developed and then moved into an Enterprise shared folder for use by authorized users. Create separate Enterprise shared folders for each project and/or defined group. Arbutus procedures in a shared folder are also displayed under the Applications data menu in Analyzer.
Any procedure in an Enterprise shared folder can be scheduled. The results of a scheduled procedure can be put in a private or shared location, or placed in another location (such as a data mart). The Enterprise Edition can provide immediate visibility and notification of any exceptions identified after a scheduled procedure is run.
Arbutus offers Finlink for SAP technology for connecting to your SAP data sources.
As with all Arbutus technologies, the access to staged or live data is read only. You can be assured that your data is safe from change at all times.
Arbutus Servers provide the option to use data encryption to ensure that any created data is secured at all times from unintended access and review.
