Sampling Methods

When you select a sampling method, you are determining the specific mechanism used to draw items for your sample.

Note: The term “item” refers to either a dollar or a record, depending on the sampling base selected.

Analyzer’s Sample command supports three basic sampling methods:

• Fixed interval sampling
• Cell sampling
• Random sampling

In addition, you can use the Analyzer Sample command to select only a subset of the population to be sampled. For more information, see Conditional Sampling.

You can also use any number of other sampling methods via programmed logic in a procedure using the Group command. For more information, see the discussion of commands In Procedures and Groups.
